Reminder - School Starts Promptly at 8:20am!

Let's have perfect on-time attendance. Coming promptly to school at 8:20am is important because classes start immediately with breakfast and our SEL morning program. (Lateness and attendance are recorded in student records. ) Also, remember that school ends at 2:40p.m.

P.S. 159 is now registering students for the 2022-23 School Year!

We are a zoned school but if we have space we will welcome you!

To register your child you must bring the following documents:

Birth Certificate or Passport
Proof of Immunization
(2) Proofs of address - Proof of address must be in one of the parent's names.
- Examples: Current Utility Bills, Property Tax Bill, Medical Insurance Bill, mail from a government agency.
Child's current last report card from their previous school.
Parent must have identification with them to enter the school building.
Please be prepared to fill out registration documents.

Registration Information

Pre-K

PS 159 has 2 pre-K classes that contain eighteen (18) students. We will be accepting a total of thirty-six (36) students for the 2022-2023 school year. Children born in 2017 are eligible for the program.

To apply for a seat in our pre-K program visit myschools.nyc or call (718) 935-2009.

You can also email the Family Welcome Center at schools.nyc.gov/WelcomeCenters

Kindergarten

Children can enter Kindergarten in the Fall of the year they turn five. For the 2021-2022 school year, this applies to children born in 2016. Kindergarten applications were due January 22, 2021. If you missed the deadline to apply to Kindergarten, you can still add your child to wait lists online with MySchools.
